Texoma & Cross Timbers Point to Point

Early Bird Pricing in Effect Until 10/1

Online Registration only. There will be no day of registrations accepted since we have to reserve transportation and lodging.

Here’s the short version of the Texoma/Cross Timbers Point to Point (Thanksgiving weekend):

Meet at Johnson Branch Friday afternoon, leave vehicles and bus to Lake Murray for Friday overnight. Ride from Lake Murray to Eisenhower State Park (90 miles) Saturday for overnight at Eisenhower. Ride from Eisenhower to Johnson Branch via Cross Timbers Sunday.

We will provide bus transportation to Oklahoma Friday night. Cabins at Lake Murray. Screened cabins, supper and breakfast at Eisenhower. We will also trailer supplies and dirty laundry to overnight stops and end point. Full weekend includes cabins and bus transport $125 per rider. Saturday night/Sunday only $90 per rider. Ride only (supply your own transport/lodging/food) $50 per rider.

This is the rough draft right now as we are finalizing a few details. Still room for feedback if it seems like we missed something. Plan on paying entry fees into Eisenhower State Park and Johnson Branch State Park for now. We’ll see if there is a way to get a group rate but it looks doubtful.

Prices go up 10/1

Midnight Mini Massacre 8/13/11

The Midnight Mini Massacre (USAC Permit 2011-2472) is a metric century gravel grinder starting at 8 pm near Ponder, TX. The route will primarily be made up of dirt/gravel roads as well as some short and desolate paved segments. The midpoint will swing through Decatur, TX for a bit of civilization and refueling capabilities. Headlights and tail lights are required but this should be an excellent way to beat the August heat in Texas and take in a new type of adventure.

Preregister by 8/1 and entry fee is only $20!
Preregister 8/1-8/12 and entry fee is $30
Day of registration $40

It’s a convenience store/”truck stop” on the SE corner of US 380 and FM 2622. I believe the place is called J&J Truck stop but it’s the only thing on that corner. There is a large dirt lot in the back that we will utilize. They usually shut down at 8:00 but the owner says he’s going to come back and reopen later Saturday so we have bathrooms and stuff. He just asks that we buy stuff at his store so please do if you need stuff. Here’s a link to the intersection http://tinyurl.com/3gpzb39

DORBA/FWMBA members will be entitled to free commemorative water bottles

2011 Red River Riot 4/23 Muenster(ish), TX

The 2011 Red River Riot will be a grass roots ride this time around with the focus being the best and most challenging route possible. This is not an official “event” so don’t look for prizes, sag support, portapots or schwag.

Click Here to Register and Stay Informed

We’re going to give you a great route to follow that will cover at least 100 miles of dirt roads in North Texas. We’ll coordinate a meet up spot and time and provide directions for everyone to find their way from Point A to Point Z. There is no entry fee but donations will be accepted to cover the overhead for signage/maps/etc.

The long route will be around 120 miles
The short route will be around 60 miles
We may offer a mini route of around 30 miles if there is any interest

Land access fees will be collected at the gate unless you need a bed and we’ll set up some sort of prepay arrangement:

$5 per head to park/land access
$10 per head to camp
$20 per head for a bed (limited)
$25 for a camper/rv includes parking

Prices cover the whole weekend but no half price if you only stay one night. Email if you want a bed those will have to be prepaid and organized. The routes will be greatness.

Kids are free

There is still no entry fee but we do have to pay “rent” for land access so everyone can gather in one spot. You can stay the night before the ride or spend the night after you are done riding or both. We will collect camping and parking fees at the gate but will have to make prepaid arrangements of some sort if you want a bed. Please touch base if you have any questions.

Most current information will most likely be on the Spinistry Facebook page or on Spinistry.com. See you there!

REMINDER: This is a self supported ride. There WILL NOT be any aid stations or SAG wagons. Do not attempt this ride if you are uncomfortable being 20 miles from civilization with ZERO support.
